I haven’t talked about Texas yet, mostly because it is one of the last-leg states. As the days go by, though, I can’t seem to get Crystal Beach, TX out of my head!
I’ve been there once before. It was the first time I’d seen the ocean. I had no idea what to expect and I practically choked on the air soup when I stepped out of the Houston airport. Once on the beach, it was pretty much everything I could’ve wanted.
Sure, the beach was a little hard, but that just means easy walking and less worry about parking on the beach, right? They say the Gulf of Mexico is dirty, and okay, but the water temperature is everything I could ever want. Coming from Colorado, I’m used to the only time I can get out of the water and not be cold is when its 100 degrees+ outside. But the Gulf…you can transition between the water and the beach seamlessly. No towel needed!
To sweeten the deal, I have cousins who live there. I haven’t seen them in ages but I’m so excited! Maybe its the nostalgia factor that I’ve been to Crystal Beach and that I have relatives to see, but I might just have to detour and head there before heading west. That will be before hurricane season.
Have you been to the Texas Gulf, or more specifically, the Crystal Beach area? Anything I should make sure I do while I visit?
