We made it to 2026 everyone! May this year be the best one yet and may you experience hope, joy, and adventure!
As for me, I have a big announcement to make!
February 14 will mark 4 years since I bought LuLu and it’s been a crazy adventure. I’m hoping that with the advent of spring will come more adventures, more travel, and more stepping outside of my comfort zone. My journey has really transformed throughout the past 4 years. I was so hopeful to tackle all the improvements right away and hit the road just as quickly. Of course, life had other plans. Things took longer than expected and my initial enthusiasm waned such that I couldn’t attack the project as intensely if I wanted to keep my sanity. I hit plenty of bumps along the way until finally, summer of last year it felt like things finally came together and her starting issues were fixed!
Somewhere in-between, however, life changed. Two (great) nieces came into my life and gave me the opportunity to be the auntie I couldn’t be when my sister had my niece and nephews. And while I know they aren’t my children, I do still want to be present, so at least until they are old enough to come with me, trips will be shorter and I’ll stay locally the majority of the time. Priorities change as life does. I’ve had such massive growth within me over the past 4 years that some days I feel like an entirely different person. That person is perfectly happy where she finds herself, and right now, that’s here.
All of that growth brought me to my newest project and my big news. It’s one that I’m not yet sure how much I’ll share, but it’s going to be a large undertaking itself. Last summer, my wonderful mother made the decision that as long as I’m willing to put in the time, money, and effort into the home I grew up in, it will be mine when she passes. Hopefully, that time is far, far away but in the meantime, I’ll be fixing the home up, renovating, and moving in. There’s no move-in date set currently, but I’m very excited for this new chapter!
So what does this mean for A Bus Named LuLu? Truthfully, not much. My intentions are still that LuLu will be my primary residence for the foreseeable future and I will take every opportunity to travel and learn and grow along the way. There’s so much out there to experience and explore – that will never change! But I did think it was time to update everyone on this exciting new chapter.
If you’re interested in seeing the renovation process on the same platforms as A Bus Named LuLu, please let me know! I want to stay true to the content you want to see, one way or another. Thank you for being here and letting me share my big news with you!
Happy New Year!
