Happy Tuesday! I have some exciting news on my van life journey to share with you all.
As you know, one of the biggest hurdles for living the van life and being able to realize this dream is money. With money, comes work. I don’t live a life privileged enough to prevent me from having to work, so my best (and most stable) option is to work from home. Or should I say, work from van.
Luckily for me, the pandemic of 2020 really helped cement in our workforce how valuable it can be to work from home. This has really been pivotal in affording me the opportunity to move forward with this journey.
For myself, in particular, instead of searching for a new job, I approached my boss (several months ago, I might add) with a proposal to restructure my job to allow me to work remotely. It would take awhile to be able to sit down with him, so I made sure he had plenty of time.
Well, just last weekend, we sat down and had a nice, long discussion about my plans and my goals. We discussed the future of my position and I got the green light to continue planning to work from home!
There will still be a lot of decisions to make and hills to climb before we make it to a point where everything is set in stone. This was a major decision and its absolutely going to effect my life for the next several months. I’m so thankful that my boss is allowing me this opportunity.
This will be the first time I’ve worked remotely. What tips do you have for staying productive and not feeling too isolated? Any other work from home wisdom you can impart? Let me know down below!
And if you’d like to help me out on my journey, take a peek over here to see how!
