I first heard about the idea of van gifts when I was watching a van life video about how to receive mail when you’re constantly moving. When I thought about it, it kind of made sense. So many people want to participate and be involved, that I created a way for people do that. Options range from super needed and practical (like car parts) to kitschy absolutely unnecessary (like this car clip).
I got my first van gift last week, courtesy of my sister! This JBL bluetooth speaker from REI is going to be great to listen to music while on the road. LuLu doesn’t currently have a radio or speakers. That’s a want, not a need, so eventually we’ll get there. Right now though, this speaker is compact enough to fit really anywhere, whether its on the dash or maybe even hanging from the rearview mirror. The carabiner also definitely helps.
It’s dustproof and waterproof too, so overall its going to be a very versatile speaker for me. I can unhook it and take it outside if I’m hanging out cooking or doing yoga. I could take it in my bag to have down by the beach while soaking in the sun.
My sister was also super cute and bought me a Scooby Doo lanyard. She says LuLu reminds her of the Mystery Machine so she wanted me to have it. Maybe the lanyard will help me channel my inner sleuth. I’ll surely be visiting haunted locations with LuLu. I’m very thankful to her for thinking about me.
